Verse of the Day: 05 May 2026

There are days when our spirit feels running dry. We start to feel like the demands of life has exhausted our inner strength. In such times, we need to keep in mind that our source of strength is someone who does not know the meaning of being empty. We are not meant to live on our own strength. But we are called to be connected with the divine flow of God. He meets every new challenge with a fresh supply of mercy.

The Word

From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

- John 1:16

Thoughts on Today's Verse

This verse shows us a view of God's vast ocean. In His vastness, we can see His wisdom, strength, holiness and love. This understanding shows a divine truth that when Jesus stepped into our world. He didn't just bring a message. He came with an infinite supply of divine life. This reminds that we are not standing at the edge of shallow pool. But at a shore of an infinite sea. Through this exact vastness, Christ has made it possible for us to receive what we exactly require at a specific moment in life. When we face a lots of grief or even when we go through a mundane busy week. The fullness of Jesus is the reservoir that we can trust. It help us to go through the difficulties of life and reach a peaceful destination.

This part in verse, grace upon grace gives a beautiful picture of God's role in our daily lives. In the actual language, this represents a continuous flow, like waves hitting the shore. It tells us that one wave of grace arrives, as the previous wave has done its work. By this we understand that, God's grace is not a one time event or a stagnant act. But it is true living and moving reality. When we have used up our grace needed for the difficult morning, there is a fresh supply of grace waiting for the afternoon. It is a limitless provision. This means that we never have to worry about finishing up God's patience. His grace works in such a way that it is replaced by even more grace. This gives us a hope that the supply of grace always exceeds the demand.

We need to shift our focus from how we view our struggles. Instead of feeling like our weakness being a big problem. We can start to look at that, as the very place where the fullness of Christ is poured out. When we know that we all have received everything from Him at the foot of the cross. We understand that none of us are self sufficient. We all are equally invited to drink from this fountain. We see that God's nature is to give. His joy is to see His children flourishing. So we need to stop trying to create our peace by ourselves. When we feel like the world is heavy for us and we are at our limit. We just have to visualize the next wave of grace which is already moving towards us. We are held by a Savior whose resources are as infinite as His love for us.

Prayer for the day

Dear Lord, I come to You today with a heart knowing my deep and constant need of Your presence. I understand that I often try to work out things by my own efforts. And in doing so, I feel so parched and overwhelmed by the world around me. I thank You for giving me a fullness in life through Jesus. I give up my self reliance and open my heart to receive the abundance You have prepared for me. Thank You Lord, for not letting me settle for smaller things. But You have invited me to feast on the riches of Your mercy. I lean towards Your strength, trusting that Your supply is more than enough. It is sufficient for covering my mistakes, fears and my inadequacies.

Lord, I am very grateful for the wave of grace that defines my life. Thank You for the favor You pour over me. You are constantly washing over my dry soul. In the moment where I feel frustration, help me to stop and receive the fresh wave of Your grace. When I get hit by the failure in life, remind me of Your grace. You are there for me to replace my shame with Your righteousness. I pray that I would not know this truth but feel it in my soul. Help me to be grateful for the love that renews every single morning. Teach me to live with an open hand, ready to receive what You give and let your grace flow through me to others.

I pray for the people who feel empty today. For those who believe that they have exhausted Your kindness. And they feel like the problems are too big for Your provision. May they experience a strong breakthrough and feel the fullness of Christ in their situation. Let Your peace, which exceeds all understanding, guard my heart and mind. I surrender my path to You, knowing that there is no valley where Your grace cannot reach me. Thank You for being my all and source of hope. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
