The Word
"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them."
- Psalm 34:7Thoughts on Today's Verse
God's way of watching over us is a quiet mystery. We can never understand the depth of that protection with our physical senses. We see in this verse, the angel of Lord is encamping around us. This encamping is not a temporary protection but a permanent, unshakable military protection. This is not just a temporary visit from a distant God, but a deeply rooted presence. This verse gives us an assurance that as we do our daily task, driving to work, helping our family or just lying awake or sleeping, there is a supernatural boundary around our life. This protective boundary around us makes sure that no evil reaches us without passing the permissive will of our father in Heaven. And our Father would deliver us from any evil through His everlasting love.
In this verse, "to fear the Lord" does not mean to be in terror of a vengeful God. But it suggests us to be in a holy awe and in divine alignment with His love. It is the understanding that we need to have over God's ultimate authority and find it as the primary safety of our life. When we decide to shift our focus from the worldly giants and problems towards the Majesty, our whole perspective of life changes. This gives us a divine hope, and makes the peace of heaven settle into the chaos of our life. And this provides us with an assurance that our security does not come from the bank account, our health or our social standing. But it is in the belief that our Almighty is there for us and guiding us with sacred territory around us.
Our deliverance may often look different than what we expect, but its arrival is always guaranteed for all those who believe in Him. Many may think that deliverance is only when we are getting all our trial resolved, but mostly it is when we have a supernatural help for us in the midst of the fire. The camps of the Lord around us mean that, even if the world feels like a battlefield, our internal peace remains intact around our Lord. We need to know that our God is not just watching the struggle from far, but is actively helping us in our sustenance. He is the ultimate barrier between us and the darkness that tries to fail us. As we walk through this day, let's visualize the spiritual reality that wherever we go, we are surrounded by the Heavenly protection. And we are far more secure than we could ever dare to imagine.
Prayer for the Day
"Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a heart that wanders around the shadows of anxiety and always keeps doubting. I confess the moments when I feel exposed to different difficulties of life, as I walk though the storm without a shield. But today, help me to lean into the truth of Your Word and thank You for the invisible shield of Your presence. I stand in front of You being grateful that You never leave me alone and I don't have to rely on my own strength. I thank you for having the Angel's of Lord encamped around me and providing a ultimate peace in a world that feels loud and chaotic. I surrender the urge to control my life by myself and my desire to see every detail of the future. And instead of that, help me to trust the Guard who stands at the gates of my life."
"Lord, help me to understand what it really means to live in the fear of Your name. Let me know that Your fear does not paralyze me but is a hope that liberates me. I surrender my life to your majestic presence, so that my soul is anchored in Your greatness through the storms of life. I seek Your forgiveness for not completely depending on Your protection and looking for help with my own resources. May your peace remove the worries that are deeply rooted in my heart. I seek Your help to open my eyes to see the 'horses and chariots of fire' that are around me. Remind me that those who are with me are far more greater than those who are against me."
"I seek for a renewed sense of Your deliverance when I feel like I am passing through difficult challenges. When I feel like I am left alone around a group of enemy, help me to feel the encampment around me. Even when I feel any kind of doubt, help me to remember that You are always having a constant watch over me. I place my friends, family and all those who are listening to this video, I ask that they are provided with the sense of Your holy guard standing and protecting them always. I completely surrender everything, my future, and my very breath into Your hands. Help me to know that You are the God who never fails and a Protector who never abandons His own. Thanks You for being my refuge and my protecting tower, and a steady ground for my feet. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen."
