Verse of the Day: 07 May 2026
The Word
Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- John 20:29Thoughts on Today's Verse
This is a statement from Jesus to Thomas, his direct disciple. It highlights that the importance of faith of those without physical evidence, will be blessed with spiritual reward. Thomas who was skeptical of Jesus resurrection, was craving for physical evidence. Only after touching the wounds of Jesus, he was able to believe that Jesus has finally resurrected. Jesus promises that those who believe without seeing will be blessed. This is very much similar to anyone with unanswered prayer who is going through a difficult situation, chooses to believe that their life will be worked upon by God's goodness. We are called to live by faith not only with external proof but in the internal witness of the Holy Spirit.
Believing without seeing is not easy, and takes a lot of courage. In spite of the chaos of our current situation, trusting and relying on God requires deep trust. In today's world, with all technologies, our mind is actually trained to demand data and proofs to believe any statement, but God's Kingdom operates in faith and trust. When you continue to worship even through the difficult times, or when you choose to be kind when life has been cruel, you are practicing the very faith that Jesus calls blessed. This trust cannot be built easily but would need a much deeper spiritual relationship with God. A trust that is unshakeable and is deep with God our Creator who exists beyond our physical sight.
The beauty of this words, invites us into a closed circle of faith, where sight is no longer a requirement for trust. Jesus knew that after centuries, His followers needs to go through a world and preach the Kingdom of God, where He will no longer be physically present or walking through the roads of Galilee. Yet His followers trusted God and preached the blessing to people. We in the same way, are called to believe in Christ. Jesus sees our belief even in our struggles, in our everyday difficulties in work , in our relationship and much more. Our blind faith in Jesus is very precious to Him. You are not at a position of disadvantage cause you are put in a situation of doubt, but its an unique experience where we are called to experience a divine faith. Always remember that trusting God in situation of doubt will lead to a greater blessing.
Prayer for the day.
Dear God, I come before You with a heart that seeks the comfort of signs and security of visible proof. I lay out the days when the silence feels heavy and my faith feels small. And during those times when I cannot see the path ahead of me. Thanks Your for the blessing that You pour on my life, when I choose to believe You. Let me not look for constant evidence and I ask that You would strengthen the eyes of my spirit. Help me to trust Your presence when I cannot feel Your movements. I believe that You are constantly working for me. You are continuously sorting out the parts of my life, where I feel as a failure.
Lord, I want to be among Your chosen ones who are called blessed. Let me have a steadfast and an unshakeable faith. When any kind of doubt comes to my mind. Let me know that You are closer than even my very breath. I seek for a heart that is satisfied by Your presence. And let me not demand to see the wounds in Your hands to know that You loved me. Let me be able to take the next step with obedience. Even when I cannot see where my foot will land. I ask for Your peace to guard my mind against the unknown of my life. And let Your joy be my strength as I walk by faith and not by sight.
I pray for my brothers and sisters, who are currently in the mind of what Thomas had. Those who are struggling with deep questions and longing for a single touch from You. May they feel the warmness and the reality of Your promise in a way that exceeds our understanding. Thank You, Jesus, for all that you have done for my life even a thousand of years ago. I remain in peace, knowingly that I am seen and blessed to just belong to You. Let me walk into this day with my head held high. Let me be deeply trusting the resurrection and the certainty of Your eternal kingdom. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
